Yeah, tell that to all the assholes who take big honkin' campers/RV's into the wilderness and the first thing they do is fire up a genny so they can run the AC and a 40" HDTV. Mounted outside, of course.

And don't you dare tell them to turn it off because you came out here for the peace and quiet.

There are legitimate reasons to take some tech with you. GPS devices, cell phones in case you get lost (which many charge using USB ports), both come to mind. And so yes, I would take my phone with me camping. I'd put it on vibrate, but I'd still have it with me.

And while there are emergency charger devices for such things, and I have one, this thing would be useful for charging such a device, on longer trips.

Also it would be useful for wildlife photographers and other professions where they go into the wilderness, but still need power to their devices.
